i don't know... everyone here is always obsessed with dumping firmware or bypassing readout protection... but like... what are you actually trying to protect against... if someone has physical access to the board for 10 minutes... game over regardless... right... sure, you can solder logic analyzers or glitch the power rail... but in a real-world threat model... who is actually doing this to your smart toaster... maybe vendor obfuscation is fine for 99 percent of cases... just thinking out loud here...
